Outreach Ministries...

Click on the titles for links to some of Ascension's outreach ministries.

Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida - The mission of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc., is to address the needs of the homeless in the community and to serve as a catalyst for community collaboration to end homelessness. To do this we strive to return homeless individuals to lives of independence through case management, education and job training.

Christian Sharing Center - Providing basic needs to families and children experiencing hunger, homelessness, joblessness, poverty, and other crises. Services include food, clothing, referrals, and rent/utility assistance.

    • The Sharing Center voted "2007 Community Champion of the Year" -Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Christian Sharing Center provides emergency aid to children, families, and elderly in financial crisis. Support includes food, clothing, and financial assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation and prescriptions. Our services are provided regardless of religion, race, creed, gender, age or national origin to more than 7,000 families, nearly 1/3 of the working poor and elderly in Seminole County who live below poverty level. Speakers are available by contacting 407-260-9155 ext.13.

Florida's Blood Centers - Florida's Blood Center (FBC) is the sole supplier of blood and blood products to 50 healthcare facilities in a 17-county area. With its 29 locations, 23 mobile units, and two protable collection equipment sets, the not-for-profit 501(C3) organization provides more than 250,000 pints of blood each year - donated entirely by volunteers - and remains the latgest blood bank in Florida and the fourth largest independent blood bank in the nation.

Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) - The mission of the Florida-Georgia District LWML is to share the love of Christ with women of all ages and diversities and to foster a recognition that the mission field exists both at home and abroad.

Haiti mission - A modern-day miracle of explosive church growth! Despite Satanic voodoo and extreme poverty, Haiti's Minister of Cults (Religions) has declared the Lutheran Church to be the fastest growing church in Haiti. They now have over 136 congregations and 105 primary schools.

Venezuelan farm project - It began, as a farming enterprise should, with seed, hope and prayer. Now, as in the parable of the mustard seed, it is growing into something that will make a wonderful difference in the lives of people in rural Venezuela. The congregation of la Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey (Christ the King Lutheran Church) in Maturin, capital of the eastern state of Monagas, supports the development of a working farm in the surrounding countryside. Originally known as La Finca Guayuta, the farm has been renamed La Finca Luterana Tierra de Gracia (Land of Grace Lutheran Farm).
